Pupil Premium Funding
The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. Not all pupil premium children however are disadvantaged.
Good schools know that both emotional growth and well being are directly linked to learning. They also know that the more a child or young person experiences quality connections with adults who are rooting for them, the more mature their brains become. We therefore use Maslow's hierarchy of need to ensure children at Rickley Park are ready to learn.
By focusing our Pupil Premium funding in this area first, it provides the essential foundations to address any under performance academically. Our Pupil Premium policy has recently been rewritten as a result. A copy can be seen below.
A review of this strategy is planned for 13th July 2018.
